Boat Safety Tips

  1. File a Float Plan: Inform someone of your trip details, including your route and expected return time, so they can alert authorities if you don't return as planned. 
     
  2. Check the Weather: Be aware of potential weather changes and avoid boating in unsafe conditions. 
     
  3. Have the Right Equipment: Ensure your boat is equipped with the necessary safety gear, including life jackets, flares, a first-aid kit, and communication devices. 
     
  4. Know Your Boat's Capacity: Do not overload your boat, as this can affect its stability and handling. 
     
  5. Dress Appropriately: Be prepared for changing weather conditions and wear appropriate clothing, including layers and waterproof outerwear.
